The Broad Range of Styles Of Stiffel Lamps

In the early days of electricity, lighting devices were produced with one thought in mind, to provide light for the darkness.  The concept of making lamps that had been eye appealing simply wasn’t thought of.  At any rate not until Ted Stiffel arrived. The Stiffel Lamp Company was founded by Ted  to make high quality lamps that could add more than just light to the room. His lighting designs were trendsetters since they were first made in 1932. Stiffel Lamps Design #1: Arts and Crafts-Era Lamps

During the era of arts and crafts, Stiffel produced beefy square lamps that have grown to be collectors items. The minimalist style of the lamp can make it suitable for nearly any decor The colors are muted, in mostly brown and light tan tones. Stiffel Lamps provide a similar table lamp today that comes in more decorative, but still muted, colors.

Stiffel Lamps Design #2:  Pole Floor Lamps

Stiffel made a reputation for itself in the 1950s and 1960s with the production of pole floor lamps. The fixture consisted of a post with cone-shaped lights clamped to it, and it literally extended from floor to ceiling. In actuality, when you reckon about it, the cone-shaped lamps were an early variation of tract lighting. These lamps were well-liked in their time, and continue being well loved these days.  They also make a range of floor lamps made of single poles that either extend straight up with an individual globe on top, or curve, having a single globe at the end of the curved post. Both designs are set to a pedestal base.

Stiffel’s precious metal collection offers lights made of metal with glass globes as shades. This selection includes lights for the floor, table and desk. Frosted glass globes top a few of the lamps while some others boast colored glass shades.
